Linda Rose, the band leader of Rose on Vibes wears two hats. By day, she is an accomplished lawyer. By night, she transforms into the dynamic band leader of RoseOnVibes, performing on vibraphone, gyil (African xylophone), vocals, and hand percussion.

Her love of jazz began at age 12, when she first heard Lionel Hampton’s Flying Home — a recording that left a lasting impression. Though she describes herself as a “late bloomer” (yes, a fitting play on her nickname), it wasn’t until 2001 that she picked up her first set of mallets and began seriously studying the vibraphone. That was the beginning of RoseOnVibes.

Driven by a type-A personality and deep passion for rhythm and culture, Rose has traveled extensively, including numerous trips to Ghana, where she studied African xylophone (gyil), percussion, and dance. Her global experiences continue to inspire her performances, blending jazz standards with vibrant world influences to create a sound uniquely her own.
